Wine Tasting Festival 05 Every year, in October, a hundred or so people from all over the region come to Bisbee for the wine festival. Many regional wineries show off their latest wines and offer them with a kind of special Arizona pride. Bisbee has an array of well known  restaurants with booths serving up their favorite hors d'oeuvres.

The 05 Bisbee Stair Climb Race is one of the most attended Bisbee events of the year. Winding through the hills of Bisbee are 1056 stairs to climb. Way back when, the only cooler in the house was a an icebox. Strong legged icemen carried blocks of ice to the houses above.

Bisbee; Tacky Town USA. It's not written anywhere that just because a town is over 100 years old, it shouldn't be at least groomed so visitors and residence didn't have to walk in the street to avoid the weeds growing out of the sidewalks and curbs. Weeds, desert  plants and random scraggly trees growing out of city and state retaining walls along the highway are causing cracks, damaging the integrity of the walls and ultimately costing much more than mere maintenance* grooming. Business owners seem to ignore tall ugly weeds just outside their doors. While walls around parking lots reek with withered plants and dead dark knurled thickets. The bus stop just below the courthouse was raised with shoulder high weeds in and around the bench. When someone finally decided to groom the area it was chopped up as if they let loose wild pigs to have their way. Visitors that come here, do not come from such ill groomed surroundings. One visitor remarked the town simply looked "tacky". Er! *Main-ten-ance; "The upkeep of property or equipment."

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all this 2005 season. Main Street was once again packed with holliday well wishers and kids waiting to see Santa arrive in the red fire engine. Bisbee folk has managed to keep the holiday season a charming small town America event. About 4 times in the last 20 years the weather has served us snow on Christmas day. Sometimes it wasn't much and didn't last till noon but, none the less, a wonderful white blanket on the 25Th. of December.
